My name is James Westbrook, I live 3509 Kilbarry Court Las Vegas, Nevada 89129 there with the home owner my Sister Karen James. The place is a typical one floor tract home located at the end of a cul de sac built in the mid 1990's.
Due to erratic and slow draining, on Friday May 29, 2026 I rented a 100 foot power snake from United Rental in North Las Vegas and brought it back home to to clear the main drainline.
I spent Saturday and Sunday, May 30th - 31st running the snake and was surprised to find out that I had approximately 80 of snake line running from my main-drain clean-out, there in my front yard to the somewhere under the street.
As it is only 30 feet or so from the clean out to the curb it meant that another 50 foot of the 100 foot long snake cable -- was in fact under the city street whereas I only had 20 or so left on the reel of the power snake.
This being the case it is blatantly apparent that there is a break in the City Street Sewer line, located there under the City Street approximately 80 feet from the clean out in my front yard
at 3509 Kilbarry Court.On Monday June 1st I called up various City Departments and finally Las Vegas Streets & Sanitation, whose female receptionist callously diregarded my request to send out some sanitation technicians come out to 3509 Kilbarry Court, there in a snide, arrogant and apparently well practiced manner.
She insisted that the sewer line break 80 feet out, was by way of her sick and twisted logic -- all under my 30 foot front yard and thereby not the problem of the City of Las Vegas.
After the I called some local sewer contractors, told them the facts and they all confirmed my finding that the break in line was most definitely there out in the street as could most anybody who knows how to add and subtract.
It's been days, turned to weeks on the phone with City Departmrents and the aides to City Council Reps all to no avail. -- I have the call logs to prove it
At approximately 2:20 PM on June 8, 2026, I received a call from a guy who identified himself as Nick Demes, and said he was with Las Vegas Streets and Sanitation.
I gave him the facts about the sewer line break and the 80 feet of snake that confirmed the location of the break out in the street.His insulting and arrogantly stupid reply was that he climbed down some manholes on my street and couldn't see any broken lines. -- I asked him to come over to the house at 3509 Kilbarry Court and run a cable snake from my clean out in order to confirm my finding. -- He simply refused to so and hung up.
In the coming days I will be posting phone texts, as well excerpts from the call logs of my phone as proof of the bureaucratic run around I have been getting from the City of Las Vegas.

I haven't had help from Council Woman Palanske's office so far. -- I now take this opportunity to ask Las Vegas and other area residents to contact the Mayor and members of the City Council regarding this highly illegal denial of public services to me and my those I live with and the apparent public health and safety problems that are presently being created.
In the days to come I will be e-mailing links of this web page to the Mayor's Office as well as the Offices of The Las Vegas City Council as well.
I am also presently contacting as many TV Stations and Newspapers here in the U.S. as well as Civil Attornies in Nevada, California and other States.
Instead of receiving any letters, notices or phone calls from the City of Las Vegas employees and the various representatives from the Las Vegas City Council staff members as to seeing that the matter of the broken sewer line at my home is to be repaire, I have only received vague, inconclusive responses.
The closest the City of Las Vegas has come is the lame and useless response from Streets & Sewers Dept. employee Nick Demes who sais he looked for leaks down in some nearby manhole on my street.
When I asked Mr. Demes to come over to and run a sewer cam from my sewer clean out at 3509 Kilbarry Court in Las Vegas he refused to do so and hung up.
I have since been unable to reach the office of the Director of Las Vegas Streets and Sewers by phone.
The Sewer Cams the City of Las Vegas has are much better and much more expensive to be sure.

The two of the neighbors wouldn't open their doors for me -- but they did for him as I looked back riding away and saw the guy chasing show them his badge and I.D.
I finally took refuge in the backyard of a third neighbor, who my pursuer also flashed his badge at, and after a short chat the plain clothes Law Enforcement Officer went away and so my dog 'Peanut' and I were finally able to escape.
